KIKO LABS PRIVACY POLICY

Thank you for visiting the www.kikolabs.com website (hereinafter referred to as the "Website" or "Site"). This Website is brought to you by Kiko Labs, Inc. (hereinafter "Kiko Labs" "we" and "us"). This privacy policy applies to www.kikolabs.com inclusive of our web-based education portal, our apps, Kiko’s Thinking Time and Thinking Time Pro, (hereinafter “Apps”), and any other related services owned or operated by Kiko Labs.

SPECIAL NOTE TO KIDS AND PARENTS

Kiko Labs does not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the event that Kiko Labs is notified that information was provided by a child under the age of 13, Kiko Labs will promptly delete such Personal Information in a secure manner.

Kiko Labs respects and values the privacy of its users, members, customers, subscribers, and others (collectively or individually referred to herein as "Members").

This Privacy Policy will address the following:

  2. What this Website and our Apps do with the information it gathers and/or tracks.
  3. Our opt-out policy so that you can tell us not share your information for marketing purposes.

TYPES OF INFORMATION KIKO LABS COLLECTS

This section details what information this Website and our Apps gather and/or tracks about you

  • Member provided information: This is the information that you provide to us during registration to become a Member or during your use of the Site and our Apps.
    a) Retail License version
    • During the Kiko Labs sign-up process as a parent, caregiver or teacher, you may be asked to provide some basic information such as your email address. You may also create a user profile for each user including first name, gender, birth month and year. All of this information is optional and is not required to use our services.
    b) School or District License version
    • If you are an educator and your account is part of a School or District License, you may also be asked to provide first and last name, password, grade level, school and role during the sign-up process. The School or District version also allows educators to create profiles for individual students including first and last names, gender and grade level. This allows the teacher to identify students using the mobile app and track their progress individually.
    This information will be kept private and will not be shared with any third party.
  • "Cookies" information: When you visit www.kikolabs.com, we may send one or more cookies (small text files containing a string of alphanumeric characters) - to your computer. Kiko Labs utilizes both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookies disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be used by your browser on subsequent visits to Kiko Labs. Persistent cookies can be removed by you at anytime. Review your web browser's "Help" file to learn the proper way to modify your cookie settings.
  • "Automatically collected" information: When you are on the Kiko Labs site, or open one of our emails, certain information from your web browser may be automatically recorded by using different types of technology, including "clear gifs" or "web beacons". This "automatically collected" information may include unique "device IDs" (similar to IP addresses), Internet Protocol address ("IP Address"), web browser type, the web pages or sites that you visit just before or just after www.kikolabs.com, the pages you view on our site, and the dates and times that you visit www.kikolabs.com. Additionally, when you are using our Apps, we record data, which may include unique “device IDs”, the games you play, your performance (for example, error rates and difficulty levels) per game, the dates and times that you use the app, and so on. This information is sent directly to our servers via a secure HTTPS connection and does not pass through any third-party service.

WAYS KIKO LABS MAY USE INFORMATION

This section details what this Website and our Apps do with the information they gather and/or track.

Kiko Labs uses the information that we collect to operate, maintain, secure, enhance, and provide to you all of the features and services found on the Site and our Apps. We will use your email address for administrative purposes such as sending you account activation and "welcome" emails, notifying you of major Kiko Labs updates, customer service purposes, or to keep you informed about your children's/students' progress in our activities. We may also send newsletters intended for the the parent, caregiver or teacher using Kiko Labs materials with their children or students. You may opt-out of receiving such notices by unsubscribing via a link at the bottom of each email we send or sending an email to us at support@kikolabs.com.

Kiko Labs uses all the information that we collect to on an anonymized, aggregated basis to : (a) understand the usage trends and preferences of our Members; (b) improve the way our Apps work and to create new features and functionality (c) provide benchmarking for scores

Kiko Labs uses "automatically collected" information and information to: (a) remember your information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you visit our SIte ; (b) monitor aggregate site usage metrics such as the total number of visitors and pages viewed; (c) track user progress on the games and exercises played.

We do not sell, rent or trade any personally identifiable information to third-parties.

We may be required to disclose personal information in some instances, such as: 1) when required by law wherein we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, and/or subpoena; 2) in the event of an emergency; 3) to defend our property or rights; 4) in the event that Kiko Labs is sold or acquired.

You can request to see or delete your personal data. You can sign into your account to see any personally identifiable information we have stored, such as your profile name and email address. You can also contact us by email to request to see or delete this information.

We keep personal data until you delete it. We remove personally identifiable information (such as your name or email) associated with your account promptly after you delete your account. We may retain other data indefinitely unless you contact us via email to request to delete this information.

ACCOUNTS PROVIDED TO YOU AS PART OF A SCHOOL OR DISTRICT LICENSE

Student and teacher accounts provided as part of a School or District License may be managed by a school or district administrator who may have access to all of your Kiko Labs account information including – but not included to - all usage history and actions taken in the mobile apps. In addition, your school or district administrator may be able to:

  • Suspend or terminate access to your account.
  • View statistics regarding the use of your account.
  • Share student account data with the student’s parent or caregiver.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

No ad companies collect data through our service. We do not allow advertising companies to collect data through our service for ad targeting.

Analytics providers access data on our behalf

Analytics companies may access anonymous data (such as your IP address or device ID) to help us understand how our services are used. They use this data solely on our behalf. They do not share it except in aggregate form; no data is shared as to any individual user.

Flurry is a web and mobile analytics tool that helps website and app owners understand how visitors engage with their website. Flurry Analytics customers can view a variety of reports about how visitors interact with their website so they can improve it. Flurry Analytics collects information anonymously. It reports website trends without identifying individual visitors. Note that we are using a restricted version of the feature set on our Apps in order to better protect our customers.

Google Analytics is a similar web analytics tool that we use only on our Site to help understand how our website visitors engage with our content.

Billing and payment providers process online transactions on our behalf

We do not store or collect financial information (e.g., credit card information) or process payments. Online payments are currently processed by Apple Corporation for in-app purchases and Stripe for website purchases.

OUR COMMITMENT TO DATA SECURITY

We work hard to protect the security of your personal information. Kiko Labs uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of Member Information. For example, all data is sent to us via a secure, HTTPS connection and can only be accessed by vetted employees. When data is shared with partners for research or for operational improvement purposes, it is stripped of personal information.

While we incorporate sophisticated technology to protect your information, we cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of Member Information collected by Kiko Labs, and you transmit such information at your own risk. Please note that this is not a guarantee that such information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

In the event of a security systems breach that we believe would warrant you taking protective steps, Kiko Labs may post a notice on Kiko Labs or attempt to contact you electronically. Depending on where you live, you may have a legal right to receive notice of a security breach in writing. To receive a free written notice of a security breach you should notify us at support@kikolabs.com.

OUR COMMITMENT TO CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. For that reason, Kiko Labs does not knowingly collect or maintain personally identifiable information on Kiko Labs from persons under 13 years-of-age. If Kiko Labs learns that personally-identifiable information of persons less than 13-years-of-age has been collected on Kiko Labs without verifiable parental consent, then Kiko Labs will take the appropriate steps to delete this information.

CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY

Kiko Labs reserves the right to change or update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting a notice at the Website that we are changing our Privacy Policy. If the manner in which we use personally identifiable information changes, we will notify users by posting the changes on this Website. Any and all changes to our Privacy Policy are effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Website, Kiko Labs's products and/or services, and/or continued receipt of Kiko Labs's e-mails shall be deemed an affirmative acknowledgement and acceptance by the user to the terms of the modified Privacy Policy.
