Executive Function Assessment

The Minnesota Executive Function Scale

Measure What Matters

Kiko Labs is excited to partner with Reflection Sciences to introduce the patent-pending Minnesota Executive Function Scale. Founded at the University of Minnesota and funded by the National Institutes of Health, Reflection Sciences has created the only early learning readiness assessment measuring Executive Function that can be used with children as young as two. Supported by founders, Stephanie Carlson, Ph.D. and Phil Zelazo, Ph.D., the team continues to make breakthroughs in this important field.

An Objective Measure

With traditional rating-scale assessments, the results are subjective and prone to bias. The MEFS™ fixes that. The objective kindergarten and early learning readiness test provides unbiased results and is extremely sensitive to change. This means you can:

  • Test groups of students with similar backgrounds, obtaining differentiated results
  • Test students over time to measure growth and effectiveness of teaching methods, curricula, and interventions

An Efficient Measure

The MEFS™ only takes 5 minutes to complete. Compared to most other measures, that buys back about 2 days of instruction and learning time for each class of 20 students.

Use the MEFS™ assessment in conjunction with Kiko's Thinking Time to concretely measure the gains in executive function in your student population.
